Cambrils, Spain - First Solo Trip

Almost everything about this trip went so well for me personally and overall. I'd not once flew on my own before but knew I wanted to book a beach holiday earlier this year to just relax and take my mind of a few things. 2017 really wasn't a great year for me and when anyone has a period of time where they believe this, they want to make the next year their year. So this is what I did.
I booked this holiday with and it fell just short of £350 I believe. This was for half board (breakfast and dinner buffet), return flights from London Stansted to Barcelona, accommodation at the 4* Hotel Best Maritim, transfers and 15kg check in luggage for four nights and five days. The hotel was beautiful, very clean and lovely helpful staff too. I must have asked 101 questions at reception during my stay.

My room was a standard twin room they do offer triple rooms, superior rooms, superior triple rooms and superior double rooms if you're looking to stay with more people or in a more luxury room. Even though my room was standard it was very clean, and offered a view I was more than happy with.

Bathroom was very clean, modern and has a large shower on the left hand side.

The foooood, I'm a sucker for a holiday buffet and it's got to the point where I'll only choose a hotel if it has a buffet option. I didn't take many photos of the food selection as it was slightly awkward but they had a wide variety of fruit, meat, cereal, pastries, bread, rolls, desserts etc the list goes on. Am I ashamed to say I had three courses every breakfast? nah. When the buffet is there you need to do it right.

The view from my balcony at night, beautiful huh? It looked over the pool and further over to the seafront.

The balcony's also lit up which made it look even more modern at night. Did I mention this hotel was fully refurbished in 2016? So it's looking pretty new!

Supermarkets were available down the stretch of road just outside my hotel, so I was never short of food. Although I found them fairly pricey but I guess it's just what comes with being in a tourist area.

As you can see from the previous photos the hotel was minutes away from the beach so I always wandered down here during the day and in the evening after dinner. There wasn't too much around the hotel in terms of restaurants and bars - there was far more in Salou which is probably a five minute drive or 15-20 minute walk. The holiday itself was everything I needed it to be. The weather was bright, the staff were friendly, the hotel and views were perfect. Going alone I was wary that four days might be too long or too short but it was ideal. Any longer in this sort of location probably would've felt too long and any shorter definitely won't be enough time to do what I had planned. If you didn't know already I took a coach tour into Barcelona for a day whilst in Cambrils which you'll be able to find on the blog.

I'd love to hear of your first solo trip and where you went to or if you're planning one - let me know in the comments below or over on my socials. x
